Job Summary

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Success (AVCEMS) provides leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive enrollment management plan for the College.  Oversees the coordination of services between the offices of Admissions and Records, Testing, Scholarships and Financial Aid, Registrar, Outreach & Recruitment, Enrollment Communications and the Virtual Student Services Center to ensure delivery of quality services to all constituents, including prospective, current, and returning students, and faculty, staff, and administrators.

Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effectives and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable law, regulation, policies and procedures.

Manages Talent Engagement activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead the College’s enrollment management effort by coordinating the development and implementation of an effective enrollment management plan, including strategies to achieve enrollment objectives, targets, and participating in other committees and task forces related to enrollment management.

Collaborate with key stakeholders on the development and implementation of innovative strategies for awarding financial aid in alignment with the student onboarding and student program/plan selection process in support of guided pathways.

Stay abreast and keep campus community informed of enrollment and financial aid-related issues and serve as a member of the Vice Chancellor of Student Services Leadership Council.

Provide relevant data and analysis to the groups including, but not limited to: student success deans, and other instructional leaders regarding enrollment and financial aid trends, course demands, and other indicators needed to support decisions regarding course offerings and student recruitment or as directed by the Vice Chancellor of Student Services.

Develop, foster and promote new opportunities with public and private sector entities in support of student success.

Collaborate with Marketing and Communications department to develop and effectively promulgate the College’s marketing message in support of strategic plans.

Contribute to the development and implementation of effective policies and procedures related to student enrollment, scholarships and financial aid, and other enrollment-related functions.

In collaboration with the Vice Chancellor of Student Services and the Chancellor’s Executive Council, facilitate enrollment and retention initiatives using data analysis, enrollment forecasting, and industry best practices.

Oversee an enrollment focused management recruitment strategy utilizing the client relationships management tool (CRM), social networking and other forms of communication to recruit and retain students.

Ensure compliance with applicable Federal (e.g. Title IX), State (CB Reporting) and local laws, policies, and regulations in relation to board and College policies, including reports as required in the areas of resource allocation and management systems.

Balance institutional policies in accordance with the individual needs of students, and articulating a vision for the enrollment management and success division that promotes the concept of high quality and consistent service to all students.

Assist the Vice Chancellor in responding to student issues and concerns.

Foster a work environment encouraging the knowledge of, respect for, and the development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Use self-directed professional reading, develop professional contacts with colleagues, and complete professional development and trainings as directed by the Vice Chancellor of Student Services to stay current with latest strategies and industry methodology to ensure the continued success of the enrollment management plan.

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Education Leadership or related field required
  • Doctorate preferred
  • 8 combined years of experience leading an enrollment management unit (e.g., Admissions, Financial Aid, and/or Registrar), and ensuring financial aid compliance, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board enrollment reporting compliance, as well as federal, state and institutional scholarship/aid programs, including at least 3 years at a director, executive director, or dean level required

Working Conditions

General office. May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
