Biochemistry Tenure-Track Position

Job Description


The Department of Chemistry at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position, although qualified applicants at other ranks may be considered. The position will begin in August, 2023. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field (relevant postdoctoral experience preferred) and will be expected to develop a research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. Research interests in Biochemistry related to biomedical technology or biotechnology would complement existing departmental strengths, and publications in refereed journals, pursuit of external funding, and excellence in teaching are required to obtain tenure and promotion. The candidate will teach Biochemistry and/or General Chemistry courses to undergraduate students and will be directly involved in the development and growth of a proposed interdisciplinary MS program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
