Job Description

Postdoctoral opportunities are available in the laboratory of Ed Schwartz and Hongling Zhao at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York (Departments of Oncology, Molecular Pharmacology, and Developmental and Molecular Biology), and the Einstein Cancer Center.

Our lab focuses on the discovery and development of new cellular targets and drugs to treat lung cancer. We use genetic, molecular, and pharmacologic approaches to identify and validate actionable targets downstream of the RB1 tumor suppressor gene. Studies include the use of mouse models of cancer, including genetically-engineered mice and tumor xenografts. We also collaborate with computational and medicinal chemists to develop new drugs. For more details, see Cancer Research 2020; 80:2355-2367 and British J Cancer 2022; 127:969-975.

Candidates should have completed PhD training in cancer biology, pharmacology, cell or molecular biology or related fields. Those with experience with mouse models of cancer and current molecular biology techniques, in particular, are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates should exhibit strong motivation, productivity and publication records. Candidates are expected to be able to work well in a team as well as independently.
