The Engineering Research Accelerator, a part of the Dean’s Office in the College of Engineering, provides an integrated, coordinated, and college-wide set of services for research incubation, acceleration, and support.

We are currently searching for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Engineering Research Accelerator at Carnegie Mellon University. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by developing tools and methodology based on category theory to model, display, modify, share and collaborate on mathematical models for organizational management processes. The research will be conducted as part of a joint project including participants from Carnegie Mellon, the US National Institute for Standards and Technology, the non-profit Topos Institute, and Chevron, Inc. The position will be based at NIST's Gaithersburg, MD campus near Washington, DC.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and analyzing data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.

  • Conducting research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of department and university.

  • Participating in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing.

  • Other duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organizational and planning skills.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree

  • Experience in user interface/interaction development and analysis Any Specific experience and skills

  • Experience with the Catlab/AlgebraicJulia preferred
