Summary

C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan/Michigan Medicine is seeking BE/BC pediatricians to join our Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) in July 2023.  

Responsibilities include serving as the attending physician on acute care inpatient services including the well-newborn service; providing education and supervision and teaching of residents, medical students, and PHM fellows; providing consultations to surgical, rehab, and psychiatry services; and performing circumcisions.  Opportunities also exist for split/full-time appointments at our partner community hospital.  The PHM division provides 24/7 in-house call divided amongst all partners.   Our PHM faculty are actively involved in education, quality improvement, research, and hospital service, serving in multiple leadership roles within the hospital, department, and medical school.  We also have a two-year PHM fellowship program which matriculates two fellows per year. 

C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is a free-standing tertiary care pediatric hospital with 348 private inpatient beds with dedicated PICU, NICU, and on-site Pediatric Emergency Department as well as pediatric subspecialty services not offered anywhere else in Michigan.  For more information, please refer to: https://medicine.umich.edu/dept/pediatrics.

Required Qualifications*

The ideal candidate must have an M.D./DO degree and be Board eligible/Board certified in General Pediatrics.  Preference will be given to individuals who are seeking full- or near-full time positions, have had at least two years of experience and/or have completed Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship training.  Special consideration will be given to individuals with knowledge/engagement in DEI activities, faculty development, education leadership, quality improvement, and research experience/expertise. 

Successful candidates will hold, or have the ability to obtain, the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan. The candidate must have the excellent clinical skills and knowledge base needed to work independently.  Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is required.
