Position Summary
The Data Science group at Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on projects involving Knowledge Graphs (KG). The postdoc will specifically work on two funded projects:
In G-FLOAT, we are integrating a wide range of information to allow for real-time querying and analysis of flood events that can be used to aid both state disaster response, as well as aiding affected communities. This requires the integration of GIS and KG information, including the application of synthetic population data in novel cross-platform analyses.
In ROBOKOP, we are creating an NIH-funded knowledge base containing a wide array of normalized biomedical data, allowing for an unprecedented level of interoperability. In this project, we are constantly ingesting new knowledge, evolving our integration pipelines, applying the graphs to answer scientific questions, and creating new methods for the application of KGs.
Responsibilities
Participate in research projects, collaborating with internal and external partners to advance the research goals of these projects.
Develop tools for the ingest and normalization of data sets into KGs, as well as tools for the application of those KGs to scientific and social problems.
Apply these tools to solve research issues such as inference of the histone code in yeast.
Contribute to interdisciplinary teams; be a team player].
Preparation of manuscripts and presentations to disseminate research outcomes.
