TUTOR II (TEMP) Math Learning Center (MLC) Program Assistant

Job Description

Responsibilities*

The Math Learning Center at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is a program that offers assistance to students in mathematics courses up to MATH 228 Differential Equations. Tutors provide drop-in assistance to students in both in-person and virtual formats.

Responsibilities / duties:
Supervise MLC tutoring and proctoring when director is absent
Plan and run an occasional review session
Assist with tutoring
Research best practices in peer learning and learning assistant pedagogy
Document processes for MLC operations
Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies

Qualifications:
Experienced tutor
BA in Math related program
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Consistently display a welcoming attitude and provide constructive encouragement during interactions with diverse groups of students
Growth mindset and desire to improve your own knowledge and skills
