Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Finance, the Executive Director of Human Resources will lead the design, development, and implementation of the divison’s comprehensive HR strategy according to the University’s “Fearlessly Forward” mission. This leader will have expertise in Human Resources, Talent Management and Organizational Development. Additional experience in consulting, facilitation, partnership, project management and analytical skills will be important in order to drive strategies and initiatives in support of establishing consistency in inclusive personnel processes and practices across the division.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 10+ years of progressively increasing leadership experience.

Experience:
Proven experience in organizational design, people strategies, policies, systems, practices, and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills including visioning, active listening, coaching, facilitation, and using data for decision making.
  • A strong understanding of human resources information systems and a passion for implementing, recommending and learning new technology.
  • Strong understanding of Federal, State and local human resource laws. 
  • A comprehensive understanding of human resources best practices in higher education and the public sector .
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to present concepts in an easy to understand manner across diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with a demonstrated high level of integrity.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Experience as a senior administrator with organizational experience in project management.
  • Higher education experience is a plus.

Additional Certifications:

SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Work is performed in a busy office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages, and other items.
