Overview

HIGH LEVEL POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Cadence Credentialed Trainer reports directly to the Director of Epic Clinical Operations and Reporting and has a matrixed relationship with the Credentialed Trainer Manager.  The Credentialed Trainer is responsible for facilitating Epic end user classroom training courses for Epic Cadence designed by Mass General Brigham (MGB) Digital Health eCare (DHeC) certified Instructional Designer.  Credentialed trainers lead end user training, the distribution of training materials and supplies and classroom quality control.  This includes the administration of proficiency assessments and class evaluations at the end of each session and sharing ideas to improve the effectiveness of the training with the course Instructional Designer.  The Credentialed trainer may also be required to develop supplemental training materials as needed to support training both classroom and non-classroom based.

The Cadence Trainer must reside within the New England states.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead user training using the curriculum designed by DHeC certified instructional designers
  • Identify need for supplemental and non-classroom training materials
  • Develop supplemental and non-classroom training materials as instructed
  • Help instructional designers and other trainers update training material, test lesson plans and training environment build
  • Facilitate study hall
  • Administer user proficiency assessments and in-system checklists
  • Support end users and the super user program as needed
  • Follow up on any outstanding questions that arise in the classroom
  • Collect valuable feedback from trainees in class and report that information to the DHeC certified instructional designer
  • Develop supplemental and non-classroom training materials
  • Help instructional designers update training material, test lesson plans and training environment build
  • Facilitate study halls and personalization labs for providers or other attendees
  • Administer user proficiency assessments and in-system checklists
  • Administer post-live refresher, optimization, and skills enhancement training
  • Set up and take down training room as needed in advance for Epic and related complementary application training
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience in group facilitation or delivering presentations and comfortable interacting in a dynamic training situation; previous training experience is strongly preferred.
  • Clinical or Healthcare experience/knowledge is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and utilize new clinical applications software and systems
  • Experience interacting with customers to gather and understand their training, business and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of adult learning and principles; demonstrated experience in applying this knowledge when delivering classroom training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and comfort with ambiguity
  • Self Starter with strong team player and leadership abilities

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • May conduct training onsite and work in an office setting.  While onsite, may work in close contact with other Trainers on the team as well as the business users
  • A lot of computer work that requires focus and concentration
  • May require travel for training or locally to meetings or satellite locations

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Healthcare/ Healthcare IT related field preferred or minimum of 2 years of related work experience preferably including training program design and implementation
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work with adult learners including clinicians
  • Working knowledge of Epic or other healthcare applications and medical terminology, PC applications, e.g. Microsoft Office, Visio
  • A working knowledge of other educational tools and software solutions outside of classroom training
  • DHeC Epic Credentialed Trainer Certification(s) desired or must obtain and maintain Epic training as outlined by program requirement
