Position Summary

Our NIH-funded laboratory is seeking an energetic, highly motivated postdoc in the field of Inborn Errors of Immunity, with a focus on STAT3-associated immune dysregulation. This position will be funded by an NIH grant, and includes a collaborative project focused on understanding mechanisms of immune dysregulation with STAT3 gain-of-function and similar diseases.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs and conducts biomedical research experiments, including standard laboratory and immunology techniques, and analysis of multi-omics data.
  • Independently evaluates own research findings and communicates these to the laboratory team, PI, and collaborators. 
  • Prepares and delivers oral research presentations.
  • Prepares and submits research manuscripts to appropriate biomedical journals. 
  • Provides guidance to graduate students and other junior trainees regarding their experiments and data interpretation. 
  • Maintains conformity with ethical standards in research, including rules governing human subject research.
  • Maintains compliance with good laboratory practice, including the maintenance of adequate research records.
  • Adheres to all applicable university policies, procedures and regulations. 

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.
  • Strong background in immunology including high-quality first-author publications.
  • Experience with human immunology and multi-omics approaches including RNA-seq and/or epigenetic studies.
  • Works well with a team and appreciates working in a diverse workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to implement laboratory procedures, design and conduct research, accurately and completely record findings, communicate results in oral and written forms, and generate manuscripts for publication.
  • Proficiency with R, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Experience in one or more of these techniques/areas: mechanisms of immune dysregulation with STAT3 gain-of-function and similar diseases.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
