Position Highlights

The Department of Immunobiology at the University of Arizona (UA) College of Medicine-Tucson (CoM-T) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position. Assistant professor applicants should have strong potential for establishing an independent research program and extramural funding. 

Associate professor applicants should have an established and recognized strong program in virology. Individuals whose research program advances understanding in virus-host interactions, including but not limited to persistent viral infection, viral evolution, metabolism, regulation of host responses and/or viral immunology during viral infection and/or pathogenesis are strongly encouraged to apply.

The applicant must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study, and postdoctoral experience. The successful applicant is expected to obtain extramural funding for their research programs and participate in graduate and medical student teaching. Salary and start-up funds will be provided commensurate with the qualifications, experiences and needs of the applicant. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish competitive, front-rank, independent research programs in molecular virology.
  • Obtain extramural funding for research programs and participate in graduate and medical student teaching.
Minimum Qualifications

·        PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study and postdoctoral experience.

Preferred Qualifications *Established expertise in working with diverse communities.
