Summary of Job Duties:

In this position, you will play an important role in discovering and advancing compounds for the treatment of major human diseases, e,g. cancer etc. You will plan and execute multi-step syntheses of key target molecules as degraders of the protein-of-interest. You will also organize and analyze these data, and draft outlines, write the scientific manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals, and/or integrate the data for patent application as well as contribute to decision-making processes. You will also supervise and provide proper training (e.g. lab-skills, safety, etc.) for graduate students etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • PhD or other terminal degree in organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry or medicinal chemistry

  • Demonstrated productivity in organic or medicinal chemistry research as evidenced by publications and/or patents.

  • Strong commitment to experimental work is expected, demonstrated by an ability to carry out multi-step syntheses and purifications, with spectroscopic characterizations of novel organic compounds (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, etc.).

  • Proficient with Reaxys, Chemdraw, and other medicinal chemistry-related software.  

Preferred

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel compounds

  • Strong skills in gathering, documenting, and analyzing information from competitive sources such as patents and meetings and using this information to guide program strategy.

  • Emerging understanding of the drug discovery and development process


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Research work on the SPk2 protac development 

  • Writing the research progress report, manuscript, patent application.

  • Supervising graduate students in the lab.
