Montgomery College, Office of the President, Equity & Inclusion Department is seeking a full-time, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program Manager. Work hours are typically between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday with some evening/weekend hours depending on need. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, grade 31 position.   Position is located in Rockville, Maryland.

Under general direction, the incumbent in this class is responsible for managing equity, diversity, human rights and social justice and anti-racism programs, policies, and initiatives across the organization. Contacts and interaction vary and may involve multiple constituencies such as direct interaction with the outside agencies, faculty, colleagues, managers, directors, students, vendors, and consultants
 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct and participate in research and analyses of program processes, institutional needs, employment and retention trends, training, employee concerns, campus climate, morale and sense of belonging.
  • Compile and provide regular and ad hoc data reporting of current and future state of equity and inclusion programs.
  • Develop and lead the strategic work for racial equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout the organization.
  • Manage the Social Justice Inclusive Leadership Institute for students.
  • Identify and implement best practices to achieve program success and compliance.
  • Identify barriers to program development, implementation and desired outcomes.
  • Implement and manage Diversity, Equity and Inclusion master plan ensuring alignment with the college’s strategic plan and state requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze programs and initiatives to ensure success for all student and staff groups and ensure alignment with the college’s mission and strategic plan. 
  • Collaborate with departments to develop plans to achieve performance goals and metrics.
  • Support the development of processes, policies, and procedures to inform decision making.
  • Coordinate the development of training programs to facilitate understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice and anti-racism at the college. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in human development or organizational development, education, diversity studies, business administration or social sciences.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field which provide the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform effectively in this job class.
  • Three (3) years of program/project management experience.
  • Experience managing relationships, and utilizing a robust vocabulary related to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and systemic oppression topics.
  • Ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple large projects with varied timelines and multiple team members.
  • Experience following trends and issues impacting higher education institutions and/or state and local government.
  • Experience facilitating presentations, training and change management practices for advancing equity and inclusion across an organization, both in person and virtually.
  • Experience influencing and using negotiation skills to drive program efforts.
  • Proven experience managing complex and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using effective and professional interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Direct experience maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience exercising proficiency with the entire Microsoft Office suite, a word processing database and presentation software applications. 
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.

Salary Range: $74,445 to $96,768 (annually).  Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity, new hires are typically placed between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range.
