New Mexico State University Alamogordo is seeking a temporary, part-time Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor.

 

Position Summary:

New Mexico State University Alamogordo (NMSUA) is seeking dynamic, qualified individuals to join

the Emergency Medical System (EMS) faculty.  The college provides EMS courses in First Responder,

EMT Basic, EMT Intermediate, as well as EMS refresher courses. Courses are taught during daytime,

evening and weekend hours in the Health Science Center located on the NMSUA campus in Alamogordo,

New Mexico.   Courses are also offered at Holloman Air Force Base and at the local volunteer fire departments.

 

The successful candidate must be committed to academic excellence and continuous improvement

through professional development, assessment, program and course development, and creating a

collegial environment of civility, collaboration and open communication. The college strives for a

faculty of content experts who are also knowledgeable about best practices, innovative 

strategies, and instructional technologies that support teaching and learning.  Will be required to

collaborate with faculty, staff and students in a diverse and collegial organizational culture with

high standards for performance. It is essential that the faculty remain current in EMS practice,

EMS education, and trends in community college education through professional development, 

further education, and/or scholarship.

 

Required Qualifications and Knowledge:

Associate's, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in emergency

medical services (EMS) or a closely related field. Minimum of two (2) years of clinical/field

experience in emergency medical services. Excellent written communication skills. Commitment to the

community college philosophy and to teaching traditional and non-traditional students from variety of backgrounds. Current, unexpired National Registry certification as an EMT-­?Paramedic. Current CPR

certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
