General Summary:

The Student Success Analyst interprets data and turns it into information to improve SUCCESS programming, student experiences, a critical business process, and/or a practice of the college all aimed at achieving our SUCCESS mission of increasing persistence and college completion rates. The Student Success Analyst will gather data and information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends.

Performs and supports a variety of activities related to SUCCESS student data, including but not limited to the following; Provide customized reports, using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Pharos 360, and Microsoft Excel. integrating data from multiple sources required for Massachusetts Department of Education Data Collections. Maintain the integrity of student data in Pharos 360, creating student data reports, support data collection for state reporting, and provide training and support to staff and Faculty on the RCC retention management system Tiger Paw (Pharos 306) as it related to SUCCESS programs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee core data management functions as it related to Student Success, such as acquiring all student and program data utilizing the SIS; processing and preparing data to ensure that it is of the highest quality and accuracy.
  • Collect project requirements, data definitions, and desired outputs for DHE reporting.
  • Maintain the integrity of student data in Pharos 360, creating student data reports, support data collection for state reporting, and provide training and support to staff and Faculty on the RCC retention management system Tiger Paw (Pharos 306).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required in the Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Behavioral Sciences, Mathematics, or related field requiring data use, research, and/or analytics.
  • Four-years working in an analytical capacity, preferably in Higher Education, experience using SQL, relational databases, and query writing.
  • Familiarity with statistical software, predictive analytics, writing and presenting summary reports, visualization tools, and ability to think critically and produce patterns of student/client behaviors in oral and written formats.
  • Ability to work with others and independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's preferred.
  • Knowledge of Jenzabar student information system.

Additional Information:


This is a part-time, Non benefitted, Non-Unit Position.

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with academic background and experience.

  • Public Transportation is available to the College via the MBTA Orange Line Roxbury Crossing Station which is a eight-minute walk to the campus.

Hours: 18.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9:00am-5:00pm

Expected start date: January 2023
