Director of Healthcare Partnership Solutions and Student Placement



POSITION SUMMARY
The Director will be the direct liaison for the College in meeting the workforce needs of business and industry in the field of Healthcare Professions while working in collaboration with the Dean of the Healthcare Professions division, the Executive Director for Workforce Development and other College stakeholders. The purpose of this position is to build industry relationships, create workforce training specific to the needs of the industry and create pathways for students in the New Skills Ready High schools to enter a healthcare career.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the College’s partnership solutions and student placement for Healthcare Professions by building working relationships with business and industry human resources departments, training managers and others to develop a regional, real-time and customized skill need databank for Nashville State. Build workforce solution partnerships with local and state healthcare professions driven business and industry.

Create workforce programs and courses that support the regional labor needs in our service region. Provide ongoing support and follow-up on current and newly created programs. Lead outreach efforts to business and industry that can assist in student internships, co-ops, work-based learning (WBL) opportunities, retention and success and promotion of College initiatives. Collaborate with the four New Skills Ready high schools to create Healthcare Professions programs, WBL opportunities and a pathway into Healthcare Professions for students who are either currently enrolled at or recent graduates from a New Skills Ready High School.

Manage the essential and daily administrative activity of co-ops and work-based learning placements for students to develop, foster and maintain a true college-employment pipeline for the area’s Healthcare Professions workforce. Promote opportunities for college faculty, staff and students to participate in business and industry externship activities to improve connections between the campus and business and industry. Generate awareness and connection to the College and its healthcare programs and contracted training opportunities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a relevant field

Five (5) plus years’ experience in the healthcare field

Working knowledge of healthcare business and market growth trends, industry engagement and potential work-based learning opportunities in the College’s service area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience engaging students in community service and engagement

Proven experience in community engagement

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledgeable in the field of healthcare, health care management, health information management including market growth trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledgeable in the area of soft skills and work ethic and the ability to transfer that knowledge to others who are preparing for jobs in the world of healthcare.

Rate of Pay: $80,599 - $100,749 annually, depending on experience
