Post Doctoral Scholar

We invite qualified candidates for a Post-Doctoral Scholar position to lead projects in a research laboratory in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Post-Doctoral Scholar will bring their skills, knowledge, and experience into a highly collaborative research environment focused on organic nanomaterial and macromolecular assembly. The postdoctoral scholar will be required to plan and perform experiments, analyze and interpret data, communicate results, and prepare manuscripts for publication. Functioning somewhat independently, the postdoctoral scholar will assume general responsibility for the scientific operations of the laboratory; provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers.

Requirement:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field. Expertise in multi-step synthesis and characterization are essential.

Desired: Background in small molecule synthetic organic chemistry and physical organic chemistry is preferred. Applicants should also have experience in the use of spectroscopic methods, including NMR, FTIR, and UV-vis-NIR absorbance and emission techniques.

Position duration is 1 year with the possibility for extension based on performance.
