Summary of Position

The Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for two full-time Clinical Assistant Professor positions to begin August 2023, to support programmatic expansion. The positions have a 9-month academic year appointment. Candidates with a strong foundation in clinical or community-based practice supporting people with mental behavioral health needs and/or older adults are encouraged to apply.

Additional Job Information

Responsibilities include:
· Teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework in area of specialization. Teaching load expectation is typically 6 courses per academic year with some flexibility depending on other responsibilities.
· Student academic advising and service activities within the Department, University, community, and occupational therapy profession.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

We welcome applications from candidates with the following credentials and experiences:
Required:
  • A completed doctoral degree in occupational therapy or related field (e.g. PhD, OTD, EdD)
  • At least 5 years of clinical and/or community-based OT practice
  • A strong occupation-focused philosophy
  • NBCOT certification and eligibility for NH state OT licensure

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:
· Candidates with teaching experience in higher education
· Clinical and/or community-based mental/behavioral health or older-adult/geriatric practice experience. However, candidates from all practice backgrounds are encouraged to apply and will be considered.
· Teaching experience and expertise in telehealth, inter/intra-professional collaborations, supporting doctoral level capstone experiences

The Department actively promotes an atmosphere of teaching excellence where faculty integrate their teaching activities with service in the department, college, university, community, and profession. The Department of Occupational Therapy is housed in the College of Health and Human Services within a R-1 research-high, liberal arts, land grant institution. UNH provides a dynamic learning environment in which qualified individuals of differing perspectives and cultural backgrounds pursue academic goals with mutual respect and shared inquiry. The Department of Occupational Therapy offers MS and OTD entry level degrees, with many students entering with advanced standing from our BS program. UNH is developing a BS OTA program, scheduled to launch in Fall 2024. The dynamic Department of Occupational Therapy currently has student cohort enrollments of 40 undergrad and 20 graduate students with 13 full-time faculty.
