Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland,  has an immediate need for a full-time Technical Training & Development Coordinator at the ignITe Hub. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, occasional evenings and weekends. This is a non-bargaining, exempt grade 29 position. This position is eligible for telework up to two day(s) per week after successful completion of initial employment probationary period. The Technical Training & Development Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing professional development training for the College’s ignITe Hub students and faculty; developing, designing and facilitating classes, and coordinating programs for the respective ignITe Hub classes, programs, and services.
 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, implement, evaluate and review training programs in ignITe Hub courses, according to assessed need, College policy, and State funding requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct faculty pre-service orientation and refresher trainings.
  • Train faculty in college and program instructional practices, principles, procedures, policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with staff to design, implement and maintain online trainings.
  • Assist the ignITe Hub director with the coordination of special technology programs and initiatives and community partnerships.
  • Conduct classroom observations and monitor lesson plans to guarantee the implementation of best teaching practices and ignITe Hub curriculum frameworks.
  • Keep well informed on new developments in the field of information technology, workforce development and adult education; incorporate current research and best practices in the ignITe Hub’s plan for program improvement. 
  • Support, research, identify and/or implement curriculum and instructional activities and materials to meet the needs of the ignITe Hub Program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field of study or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the functions of the job.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in designing, developing, and delivering instruction incorporating technical knowledge, skills, and skill-building practice, preferably in an educational institution.  
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts and principles of adult learning and instruction.  
  • Skill in planning and implementing technical and non-technical training programs.
  • Skill in instructing technical concepts, analysis and processes.
  • Skill in effectively communicating, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse population at all levels.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, management external vendors, and program partners.
  • Skill in: using computer software applications necessary to perform the work; presentation; facilitation; negotiation; and persuasion.  
  • Ability to: design, develop, coordinate, and deliver training curriculum; remain current in trends, topics, and issues in the respective fields, make sound decisions through analysis and evaluation; manage multiple projects; and plan, organize, and set priorities on assigned work.  
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Apple Software, particularly Swift and XCode
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or another top language in Montgomery County
  • Two years of progressive experience with event coordination
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience serving under-served populations
  • Knowledge of common IT career pathways
  • Proficient with computer applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience providing technical assistance on Mac operating systems, MacBooks and iPads
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
     

Hiring Range $67,639 to $87,942 annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.
