Position Announcement Senior Director for Industry and Employer Engagement

Position Summary
The Senior Director for Industry and Employer Engagement will serve as the institutional liaison for partnerships with local business, industry, workforce development boards, chambers of commerce, and other appropriate community organizations in the ICC service area. This position will lead the implementation of plans that drive engagement with industry, including employers. The Senior Director will also serve as the Carl D. Perkins Grant Coordinator.

In addition, the Senior Director for Industry and Employer Engagement serves as the Fab Lab ICC Director overseeing Fab Lab employees, building networks, and developing project plans in collaboration with staff.

This is a 12-month position. The ICC Senior Director for Industry and Employer Engagement reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Qualifications
Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience, experience in higher education preferably in a community college setting, and a minimum of three years working with business and industry.

• Experience and demonstrated skill in planning, programs, and policies, as well as in the development and evaluation of programs and policies • Ability to keep up to date on current trends in business and relationships with the community • Innovative and willing to take risks to accomplish the goals of the College • Ability to market programs to maintain and build ICC’s industry partnerships • Ability to act as an effective oral and written communicator and as a consensus-builder working to maintain collaborative working relationships

Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct workforce development research analysis, including identification of training needs of employers, designing training to meet the identified needs, and marketing training for business, industry, and agencies · Utilize research analysis and partnerships with area business and industry to assist with program development for Independence Community College · Develop and manage the strategic plan for industry and employer engagement in conjunction with the VP for Academic Affairs · Recruit non-credit hour training program participants · Assist with development grants, soliciting support from industry partners, and the administration of relevant funding streams · Develop new and update current industry resources so they are up to date and relevant · Develop career-related marketing materials and coordinate the creation and distribution of promotional materials for events and activities in consultation with the ICC Marketing Department · Supervise Fab Lab employees · Build networks and develop project plans in coordination with Fab Lab ICC employees · Promote Fab Lab ICC to the campus and broader community · Develop and lead operational plan for Fab Lab ICC · Serve as the ICC Perkins Grant Coordinator · Serve on various campus committees as assigned. · Performs other duties as assigned or required.
