Project Scientist or Postdoctoral Fellow Position in the Peng Lab

Job Description


The laboratory of Retinal Function and Dysfunction led by Dr. Yi-Rong Peng in the Department of Ophthalmology and Neurobiology at University of California, Los Angeles is recruiting highly motivated Project Scientists or Postdoctoral Fellows to lead multiple projects, which use high throughput omics methods, CRISPR gene targeting, stem cell and retinal organoid technology to study the development and degeneration of the visual system. The Peng lab is exploiting advanced genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic tools, imaging, gene editing, and function and behavior assays, to uncover the evolutionary and developmental basis for the visual system and understand the pathogenetic mechanisms of visual defects.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology, neuroscience, stem cell biology, or related disciplines. Candidates with research experience in molecular biology, neuroscience, gene targeting, stem cell and retinal organoid culture techniques are especially encouraged to apply. The position is immediately available. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, laboratory experience, and university guidelines.
