Summary of Position

The Associate Dean for Undergraduate and Graduate Studies (AD-UGS) is a full-time administrative position reporting to the Dean of the UNH College of Professional Studies (CPS) and serving as a key member of the CPS leadership team. The AD-UGS helps to shape the future of CPS in accordance with the college’s mission, vision, and strategic plan. The UD-UGS is responsible for the overall success of the college’s face-to-face undergraduate and graduate academic programs, the overall student academic experience, and measurable student outcomes. The AD-UGS provides leadership and ensures the coordination of all academic programs in the Manchester Division of CPS, including academic strategic planning, resource allocation, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

The Manchester Division of CPS was formerly known as “UNH Manchester,” one of the seven colleges of UNH. With the recent merger of Granite State College (GSC) into UNH, the UNH College of Professional Studies now includes GSC as a new, online division of the combined college. Historically, UNH Manchester offered undergraduate programs focused on experiential learning and taught by full-time and adjunct faculty. More recently, it has developed several professional graduate programs to address workforce needs, especially for the state of New Hampshire.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong professional characteristics, including leadership, vision, strategic thinking, integrity, communication skills, a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, a demonstrated ability to execute initiatives, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff across all levels of the organization. The AD-UGS should have a strong commitment to student success as integral to the college’s academic vision, mission, and strategy. The AD-UGS must have prior experience in developing and managing undergraduate and graduate programs in one or more academic disciplines, including engineering, computer science, psychology, biology/biotechnology, business, and communication. The AD-UGS in the Manchester Division of UNH-CPS is responsible for the support of full-time faculty (both tenure-track and lecturer), as well as the overall standards and support processes for adjunct faculty.
