Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage at The Morris Inn. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives. As part of the event management role, the division is responsible for the planning and execution of a wide range of University events from Commencement to concerts and special events on football game weekends. The division is a major contributor of revenue to the University’s mission and employs the largest number of staff on campus with over 1,200 full-time, part-time, temporary, and on-call staff.

We are seeking a team member that will join us, roll up their sleeves and take charge of a team that is committed to providing world class service.  Reporting directly to the Senior F&B Manager of Rohr’s this role will act as working manager within the F&B department to provide support for Morris Inn F&B Outlets, assist with tasks as well as recruiting, training and supervision of F&B staff members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train and develop the service team in the restaurant and McKenna to provide continued excellence in hospitality in service
  • Driving the team toward a higher degree of hospitality and guest service
  • Oversee day to day operations and assist in the opening and operation of McKenna and Cafe J.
  • Hiring, Training, Development of current and new team members
  • Participating in hiring fairs and review applications through the hiring process
  • Help facilitate data entry into the scheduling software with the Beverage manager to ensure all positions and needs are filled within the restaurant.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma orGED
Experience: At least 1 year of Food and Beverage supervision or management required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in Private Events, Banquets, and Creative Food/Beverage presentations.
