Summary

The parent organization of this new program is Silver Club Memory Programs at Michigan Medicine which provides socialization and activities for people with dementia. This role is responsible for coordination of the “Washtenaw County Support Network for Caregivers” program and acts as the main point of contact for program participants and partner organizations (Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County and Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County). The program aims to connect caregivers of older adults to respite and wellness resources. Basic administrative responsibilities are required.  This position may be in person, remote, or hybrid. This position is grant funded through September 2025.

Responsibilities*

Program Coordination

  • Works with partner organizations to streamline coordination, oversee communications and assist with development and implementation of the program
  • Communicates with program funders and attends required meetings
  • Works with Silver Club Director to manage program budget

Participant Coordination

  • Communicates with caregivers interested in the program, and assists with connection to services/resources
  • Plans and oversees caregiver outings, educational sessions, and networking opportunities
  • Facilitates a Caregiver Council who will advise in implementation of the program

          

Program Evaluation/Reporting

  • Coordinates the evaluation of the program and assesses survey results
  • Completes required reports for funders

 

Marketing and Publicity

  • Works with the Silver Club Director as needed to promote the program to professional contacts and in the community

Required Qualifications*

  1. Associates or Bachelors degree- preferably in health or social work related fields or equivalent work experience
  2. Professional experience working directly with people in a customer service or social service roll
  3. Exceptional interpersonal skills
  4. Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  5. Proficiency in computer software programs (Word, Excel, Google Suite, Email platforms)

Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and dependability. They will be able to manage time, organize and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail. They must exhibit good judgement and have the ability to communicate and work well within a professional team.

Desired Qualifications*

  1. Experience in program coordination, implementation and/or evaluation
  2. Experience working with older adults or other community programs/non-profits

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
