Postdoctoral Position – Neuroimaging - Developmental Network Neurobiology Laboratory

Job Description:
The Developmental Network Neurobiology Laboratory (DNNL) in the Depts. of Pediatrics and Neurology, University of Florida, is inviting 1-2 NIH-funded postdoctoral positions in structural covariance, white
matter microstructure, and functional connectivity MRI and related techniques. Current research collaborations at DNNL applies structural covariance MRI, functional connectivity MRI, diffusion-tensor imaging, cortical thickness, and volumetric MRI, as well as behavioral and neuropsychological measures to investigate biomarkers in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). DNNL is affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence Initiative at UF, and collaborates with engineering, computer science, MR physics, EEG, MEG, and other groups at UF, and has full access to the McKnight Brain Institute (website), which houses the research-dedicated 3T MRI scanning facility. The primary focus will include supporting newly funded NIH projects including an Autism Center of Excellence project using combined scMRI, fcMRI, and DTI, as well as developing AI-based techniques for high-dimensional multimodal studies of ASD.
 
Applicants should have experience in functional MRI and functional connectivity MRI (data acquisition, preprocessing, analysis). Experience in high-dimensional computer science using data-driven techniques (graph theory, ICA, machine learning), in other imaging modalities (DTI; MEG), and in multimodal integration will be relevant. Experience with AFNI/SUMA, SPM, FSL, Freesurfer, UNIX/LINUX computational environments and/or programming skills (MATLAB, R, C++; JAVA, Python) is  desirable, but not required. Applicants who have experience in the study of children (especially those with autism), and other clinical populations may be preferred.

Expected Salary:

  $55,224-$66,60 commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. degree in the appropriate area of specialization. A strong interest in research, as well as excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience (preferred), Computer Science, or other relevant Neurobiology related field. A strong record of early career research, as well as excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
