Job Description

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, El Ada Community Action Partnership, Inc. Location: Garden City, with offices in Boise, Mountain Home, and Homedale.

El Ada CAP, Inc. is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency. El Ada was incorporated with the aim of reducing poverty among three counties in southwest Idaho by providing education, housing assistance, emergency assistance, energy and weatherization services, and other anti-poverty programs that lead to self-sufficiency. El Ada is dedicated to helping people help themselves, so that each person can become a fully participating member of their own community. Services are provided by offices in Ada, Owyhee, and Elmore counties. The Administrative Office is located in Garden City.

The Executive Director provides strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities for sustaining and executing El Ada's mission. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and skills in leadership, management, strategic planning, and organization, as well as financial and human resources, and public relations. The Executive Director reports to a tripartite Board of Directors. The Executive Director directs the administrative functions of the agency within the guidelines established by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible to implement and enforce the policies established by the Board of Directors in compliance with federal and state laws and grantor requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to the mission of El Ada and will direct the agency by maintaining the agency's focus on being a vital resource for human welfare in the communities the agency serves.

The Executive Director will administer the agency by:

-creating programs which will benefit the economically disadvantaged members of our communities.

-supervising and maintaining the fiscal, personnel, and administrative control of the agency, in cooperation with the Chief Financial Officer and the program directors.

-attend meetings and functions necessary to provide support of the agency.

-working with other agencies, groups, organizations and local, governments which share the concerns and goals of the agency.

-serving as a representative of the agency to the general public, advocating for the agency's mission in the communities the agency serves.

-hiring, supervising, evaluating and, when necessary, terminating agency personnel.

-identifying existing and untapped resources which can meet the needs of the economically disadvantaged in the communities the agency serves.

-delegating responsibilities deemed essential to the working of the agency to appropriate staff members.

-working closely with the Board of Directors to keep policies and procedures current with all legal and funding requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

-educational certifications and demonstrated experience in non-profit management and social

services.

-demonstrate knowledge of business procedures and organizational structures, and the ability to work effectively with both staff and the general public.

-demonstrate skills in effective communication, as well as good knowledge of office practices, supervisory practices, organizational tasks, and grant administration, including planning, writing, budgeting, and reporting.

-experience working with a Board of Directors and the willingness to help build a diverse, engaged, informed and inclusive Board.

-demonstrable ability to set clear priorities, delegate tasks and guide staff to accomplish agency requirements and goals.

-possess good knowledge of Equal Employment and Affirmative Action concepts and legal requirements.

-possess/acquire a basic knowledge of ROMA and of the Organizational Standards required of CAP agencies. ·

-knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

-possess a valid Idaho driver's license, pass a criminal background check, undergo random drug testing.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Starting salary will be dependent upon qualifications. This is a full time, exempt position with health and 401K benefits. No moving expenses will be provided.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
