Work Schedule
Schedule varies from 15-35 hours per week based on projects and events (annual average of no more than 29 hours per week). Ability to work flexible hours between 7:00am to 8:00pm Monday-Friday as needed and two Saturdays per month. Flexibility to attend later evening and weekend events with advanced notice.

Location: Varies between Stultz Building on Main Campus and satellite locations in downtown Charlottesville (Jefferson School City Center and IX Park); locations are served by public transit

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).

PVCC seeks a part time hourly Enrollment Services Assistant for the Division of Workforce Services to provide customer service for current and prospective students. Duties include answering telephones, responding to emails, explaining program requirements, assisting students with registration and interacting with students, faculty, employers, the public, and other divisions within the college. Preparing classrooms and labs for instruction, assisting with marketing, reports and other projects as assigned. This position has high interaction with the public and other offices within the college.
Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Effective collaborative problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of community college programs.
    • Demonstrated commitment to community college philosophy.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to help engage, provide support to, and motivate students and staff.
    • Excellent customer service skills to include the ability to effectively follow up and follow through.
    • Detail-oriented with strong Internet usage skills and proficient in use in knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and successfully meet guidelines and manage multiple projects
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Fluency in English

 

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with Augusoft Lumens and/or PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of workforce training programs
  • Experience in higher education office setting
