Job Description

The College of Business has 65 full-time faculty and 40 part-time faculty in 6 academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The College currently offers 15 undergraduate majors serving more than 2,100 students, and 4 graduate programs serving approximately 200 students combined. Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook.

Experience Required:

Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor.

Experience Preferred:

Doctorate in Accounting from AACSB college or school of business will be given priority. Scholarly Academics (SA) per AACSB standards are preferred. LLM in Taxation with significant Taxation publications will be considered, but need to be qualified to teach Principles as well. ABD with a scheduled defense date may be considered.
Candidate should have sufficient education/training to accomplish refereed research in one of the commonly accepted accounting or tax fields. Professional Accounting certification strongly encouraged, CPA preferred. High quality teaching is expected. Professional experience in accounting field strongly encouraged.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Previous teaching experience in higher education environment at the level of teaching assistant or higher is required. Candidate must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness/excellence. Case utilization methods and user perspective principles experience preferred. Candidate must be appropriately SA qualified under AACSB guidelines.
