- Master’s degree in a related field and 3 years’ experience supporting and advocating international students in an educational setting
- Experience advocating for the needs of multicultural students in an educational setting
- Proven experience leading effective workshops/training on critical issues for international and multicultural students in order to build an inclusive community.
- Proven ability to make critical decisions using sound professional judgement and discretion while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work with multiple internal and outside partners effectively. Strong interpersonal skills and adept at leading and motivating others.
- Ability in planning, organizing, executing, and evaluating program effectiveness
- Willingness and ability to adapt to change and learn new skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Awareness of current and emerging technology used for student communication.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising and mentoring professional staff
- Experience with EAB Navigate, Banner, Qualtrics, Canvas, Salesforce

Duty/Responsibility
- Design, coordinate, and conduct training and information sessions for the University community to promote cultural competency and a climate of inclusion.
- Develop and implement strategies with a primary focus of retention of international students.
- Serve as a resource for international students in finding housing, cultural and religious services, food, and other basic needs.
- Work effectively as a mentor, resource, and advisor with international students and individuals of multiple identities and positionalities, including gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, disability, socioeconomic status, worldview, and other significant aspects of identity with a core focus on student retention.
- Coordinate programming efforts, support students during important cultural events, and provide cultural heritage celebrations and educational experiences such as Diwali, Ramadan, lavender graduation, First Generation Celebration, Black History Month, LGBTQIA+ awareness, and other cultural awareness experiences.
- Assist in building a community of care for students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
- Engage international students, adult learners, and Millyard Scholars in efforts to create a community of inclusion and support.
- Through the lens of intersectionality, work closely with international, underrepresented, and ally students to empower their development and growth in order to thrive socially and academically while retaining these students throughout the UNHM experience.
- Provide direct support and programming to support the transition of international and historically excluded students. Provide effective advocacy for historically excluded communities.
- Engage adult learners and Millyard Scholars in conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Lead efforts with faculty, staff and administrators around issues concerning campus climate.
Duty/Responsibility
- Serve as primary advisor for Common Ground and as a resource for the ISO student group (Intercultural Student Organization).
- Chair the Committee for Community Action and Awareness (CCA)
Duty/Responsibility
- Serve as the Manchester’s campus liaison to The Beauregard Center and Office of International Student Success (OISS) at UNH Durham to collaborate and further enrich the student experience at UNH Manchester.
- Serve as member of the Bias Awareness and Response Team (BART)
Duty/Responsibility
- Assist the Director of Student Engagement with the Peer Leader Program and support aspects of all student engagement programming.
- Act on behalf of the Director of Student Engagement, when the Director is not available in regard to supervising and supporting the student engagement team and the needs of the office.
