Job Description

The Director of Financial Operations reports to the Vice President for Finance, Operations, and Information Technology and works in a financial and administrative capacity to assist in managing the financial and accounting operations of the college. The Director of Financial Operations provides leadership and supervision of CCBC’s business services by managing day-to-day operations, using continuous improvement to streamline and improve financial operations, and epitomizing CCBC’s RAISE core values. The position is accountable for budgeting and forecasting; monitoring revenue, expenditures, the general ledger; and contributing to the development of policies and procedures for college financial operations. This position has direct oversight of the Cashier, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable areas. The Director of Financial Operations will lead innovative change to improve the use of the College’s resources while maintaining the institution’s high degree of excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Prospective candidates for this role could come from a number of potential backgrounds including finance with higher education or an academic health system; financial or budget management within a governmental agency or office; or a financial management function or consultancy in the private sector.
• Clear managerial skills and top educational credentials including a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in accounting or business administration are required.
• An MBA, CPA, and/or other relevant advanced professional/graduate degree is preferred.
• At least five (5) years of experience managing financial and business operations at a college or university or equivalent experience, or with career progression in, a complex organization.
• Must have strong organizational skills, a flexible work style, and the ability to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
