Assistant Professor - Accounting, Faculty Professional Track

Job Description

The School of Business at Elmhurst University, in the west suburbs of Chicago, invites applications for professional track (non-tenure) faculty to teach upper level accounting courses. Coverage of financial and managerial accounting courses would also be required. The position would commence in the 2023-24 academic year.
Essential Functions

  • Teach upper level accounting courses.
  • Teach financial and managerial accounting courses.
  • Be flexible relative to teaching schedule.
  • Attend regular School of Business and University meetings.
  • Leverage Blackboard learning management system and publishers’ online learning materials.
  • Perform semester advising for student registration.
  • Participate in the School of Business / University’s shared governance with participation in councils, boards, and/or committees.

Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

  • MSA or MBA or related Master’s degree or higher with at least 21 semesters hours of graduate accounting coursework.
  • College teaching experience.
  • Five years professional experience outside of higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current CPA or CMA license.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Work Hours

  • Flexibility relative to teaching schedule.
  • Availability for meetings with fellow faculty and administrators, in-person.
  • Availability for meetings with students for office hours and advising, in-person
