Liberty Prep Christian Academy Development Director (Part-Time) Job Description

The Development Coordinator is responsible to carry out the day-to-day functions of institutional development within the school in order to build and maintain a support base to perpetuate and advance the mission of the school. The Development Coordinator shall report directly to the Head Administrator who will lead and support the strategic plan for all development activities. Part-time, flexible hours.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • A demonstrated commitment to Christ and Christian education.
  • Whole-hearted and enthusiastic support of the school's mission and vision
  • A demonstrated ability in the following areas: personable one on one, small group and large group communication, organization, delegation and relationship building.
  • An understanding of the nature and purpose of institutional development within the non-profit organization.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Computer proficiency: database, word processing (some desk-top publishing).
  • Bachelor's degree and/or requisite experience in the field.

Preferred:

  • Experience with mission-driven giving, fundraising, capital campaign management, volunteer recruitment and managements (including non-profit boards).
  • Easily perceived creative ability and vision.
  • Proven track record in fundraising, including capital campaigns, events, annual funds, and grant-writing.

Salary: Based on experience, education, and work schedule. Benefits: 50% Tuition Scholarship for all dependent children to attend Liberty Prep Christian Academy

Expected Outcomes

The Director of Development shall be an individual qualified to carry out his/her functions so that:

  • The funding goals of the annual strategic development plan are met.
  • The school's mission is strengthened and supported through all development activities: charitable giving, approved fundraisers, public relations, admissions, and communications.
  • The Annual Fund is is nurtured, sustained and strengthened from year to year through a renewed and expanded donor base.
  • The Liberty Prep constituency and surrounding community grow in understanding of the school's mission and how it is being accomplished.
  • Relationships within the school constituency are continually strengthened.
  • Manage volunteer organizations of the school effectively.

Expected Functions

  • In conjunction with the Administration, educate and inspire school families, volunteers, school board members, school staff, and the community regarding 1) the school's mission, 2) the Christian philosophy of education, and 3) the principles of development.
  • Be personally responsible for the success of Liberty Prep’s Development: Annual Fund, Business Partnerships, Capital Campaigns, Church Partnerships, Donor cultivation, Endowment, Fundraising, and Volunteer Management.
  • Personally cultivate donors and pre-donors and ensure all major donors are optimally cultivated – acquiring, renewing and upgrading donors through a comprehensive Development Plan.
  • Be a servant leader who builds an incredible development team, to include staff, board members, and volunteers.
  • With development and administrative staff, establish and maintain an integrated Development Calendar.
  • Develop an annual Development Plan to meet ongoing goals set forward by the Administration and School Board.
  • Develop case statements as needed for various funding efforts.
  • Oversee the tracking and receipting of all donations on donor software. Use reporting functions to analyze trends and strategize goals.
  • Oversee the annual gala.
  • In conjunction with the development staff, produce marketing tools and donor related mailings, including, but not limited to, the website, donor thank you letters, tri-folds, annual fund and campaign brochures.
  • Represent the school to both the internal and external constituency.
  • Manage all cash and non-cash gift negotiations and transfers.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
