The postdoctoral researcher will carry out paleoclimate data assimilation experiments over Phanerozoic time, integrating proxy geochemical measurements of sea-surface temperature with climate modeling experiments. Previous experience with paleoclimate data collection and paleoclimate assimilation on long geological timescales is required for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collate and process paleoclimate model simulations and paleoclimate temperature data.
  • Conduct paleoclimate data assimilation to answer key scientific questions concerning the evolution of global climate across the Phanerozoic Era.
  • Present project outcomes at selected scientific meetings.
  • Publish results in the peer-reviewed literature.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Geosciences or a related field with a focus in paleoclimatology upon hire.
  • Previous experience with paleoclimate data collection and paleoclimate assimilation on long geological timescales is required.
