Summary
The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate (PhD). The clinical research trials will focus on thoracic malignancies including lung cancer, malignant pleural mesothelioma, esophageal cancer, and lung-limited metastatic colorectal cancer, to identify and develop novel therapeutic approaches for these malignancies. This position coordinates day-to-day activities of research protocols, which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization, and safety of research participants. Will supervise other research staff.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts advanced research experiments using mass spectrometry.
- Evaluates and analyzes mass spectrometry data.
- Performs statistical analysis.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- Assists with grant proposal writing and progress reports.
- Works in research projects involving the use of mass spectrometry and mass spectrometry imaging in biomedical and cancer research.
- Leads clinical studies and participates in research involving human subjects.
- interacts directly with clinicians, surgeons, and pathologists to fulfill the aims of the research projects.
- Assists with laboratory operations.
- Supports supervision of research staff including graduate and undergraduate students.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in mass spectrometry.
- Experience with ambient ionization mass spectrometry and/or mass spectrometry imaging is desirable.
