Job Description Summary:
The Recruitment Manager plans, oversees, and sets direction for the institution’s talent acquisition efforts and leads a team of recruiters in executing that strategy. They work closely with leadership and administrative staff in departments throughout the organization to determine recruiting support needs and develop effective strategies to address those needs. The Recruiting Manager will work alongside the team of HR Recruiters to provide direct support to department recruiting needs.

Job Description:

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Work Experience:
    • 3 years of experience in recruiting/talent acquisition
    • 2 years of management experience
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of recruitment sources and platforms to proactively source candidates
    • Expert skills in Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom
    • Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations relevant to the recruiting process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Certifications: PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
  • Work Experience:
    • 5 Years of experience in recruiting/talent acquisition
    • Experience with Workday or similar HRIS/ATS applications
    • Prior role in higher education or healthcare
    • Experience with recruiting reporting and metrics
  • Skills:
    • Impeccable accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
    • Superior customer service skills
    • Active support for diversity, equity, and inclusion
    • Trustworthiness in handling confidential information
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of an organization

Job Duties Outlined:

Strategy & Innovation

  • Network and partner with local and regional talent professionals to stay abreast of the latest trends in recruiting and sourcing
  • Adapt to changing labor market conditions and implement new and improved solutions, such as new recruitment tools, methods, and advertising platforms to broaden talent pools
  • Remain current on labor legislation and inform recruiters and managers about changes in regulations
  • Capture and report recruitment metrics periodically to HR leadership; respond to data trends accordingly

Leadership & Management

  • Build and maintain a strong functional recruiting team through effective selection, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning
  • Oversee recruiting function, ensuring alignment with the entire HR team by maintaining communication and collaboration to achieve goals and objectives
  • Monitor recruitment procedures within Workday to ensure optimal usage and efficiency
  • Monitor and recommend updates to recruitment related policies

Customer Support

  • Engage departments to learn about hiring needs and opportunities in recruiting top talent and align recruitment goals accordingly
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal customers and ensure excellent support for talent acquisition needs
  • Seek input to continuously strive to improve internal practices and procedures
  • Participate in job fairs, career events to attract candidates and build KUMC’s professional network
