Summary

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/Hospital Dentistry at the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry invites applications for a one-year full-time position in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as a Clinical Instructor. Candidates must hold a dental Degree in the U.S. or a similar/equivalent from an international program. Previous experience in education is preferred. You will teach and supervise 12-15 students working out of six operatories every six weeks.

Job duties include:

Teaching third and fourth year dental students in an academic seminar and clinical skills. Seminars cover basic exodontia skills, medical risk assessment, and case-based presentations. This is a high volume surgical clinic which needs a committed, team oriented, positive-thinking instructor. Mentoring student’s also means you may also need to demonstrate technique and complete difficult oral surgery procedures. Each 6-week rotation begins with a one week orientation that you will lead. There are
weekly quizzes and a final exam at the end of each rotation.

Patient care in dentoalveolar, exodontia, biopsy, pre-prosthetic surgery, impacted wisdom teeth, socket preservation and dentoalveolar trauma.
