We are seeking an experienced Mill/Turn 5 Axis CNC Machinist to work in our state of the art facility and help us build the future. As a member of our team you will work in a creative, dynamic work environment, where staff work together to share knowledge and career growth is encouraged. You will work directly with Engineers and Designers to create components that will travel on spacecraft to the most distant planets and to our own star. You will also support many DoD projects that will require complex, prototype hardware.

 

As a Mill/Turn 5 Axis Machinist your primary role will be to program, setup, and operate the Mazak Integrex CNC 5 axis machine for end-to-end fabrication with minimal supervision.

 

In this role, you will...

 

  • Program using Mastercam software.

 

  • Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments( O.D., I.D. Micrometers, calipers, height gages, indicators Etc.) ensuring all hardware meets drawing specifications.

 

  • Communicate and engage using various methods to achieve fabrication objectives.

 

  • Act as a subject matter expert with the ability to share knowledge with peers, engineers and designers as necessary.

 

  • Apply all APL applicable quality processes including all AS-9100 requirements.

 

  • Monitor and record duration and completion of work performed in our work management system in accordance with business and quality procedures.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Have 3+ years of experience programming and operating a multi-axis Mill/Turn, preferably Mazak I-300, I-400 series.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with engineers, designers, and shop personnel for manufacturing questions and issues.
  • Possess computer skill: Microsoft Office and web based applications.
  • Have a strong knowledge of GD&T.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have 7+ years of experience programming and operating a multi-axis Mill/Turn, preferably Mazak I-300, I-400 series.
  • Have a Secert Security Clearance.
