Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Catering Operations Specialist, within the department of Three Leaf Catering. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.

Why this position?
Reporting to the Director of Culinary Operations & Events, the Operations Specialist is responsible for contributing to the overall success of events. In addition, this position acts as a catalyst between Operations and Event Specialists, and will attend weekly BEO meetings and represent Catering Operations. The Catering Operations Specialist will assist in day-to-day event operations, in the areas of guest satisfaction, safety, checking equipment onsite, troubleshooting, training, excise permits, and implementing service standards. This position requires flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and as needed on holidays observed by the University and works hand in hand with the Catering team in ensuring a seamless event experience for guests and team members through active listening and communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience
  • Strong team player well versed in all aspects of Event Management, with an emphasis on relationship building
  • Advanced MS Office skills required
  • Ability to adapt and learn new/different systems
  • In-depth knowledge of University policies, procedures and operations.
  • Organization, multi-tasking skills as well as excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to obtain Indiana Bartenders Permit and ServeSafe certification within 90 days of hire
