BASIC FUNCTION:
The Engagement Coordinator will ensure the implementation and execution of engagement activities in accordance with specified objectives.
 

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position may have supervisory responsibility for graduate assistants.
 

NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Engagement Coordinator will provide administrative support and program management support to the Assistant Dean of Impact and Engagement with limited support for the director of development. The incumbent will be responsible for drafting strategic fundraising materials, briefings, and presentations. In addition, anticipate and respond to needs and requests from donors, centers, and the team; assist proactively and follow up until needs are met.
 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Independently manage cultivation and stewardship activities for a corporate partner portfolio, leading events, student activations, and other related activities within the School of Business.
  • Support team operations through critical projects, including annual partnership events, student ambassador engagement, executive series management, and other tasks as needed.
  • Stay abreast of all School of Business Centers of Excellence activities and engagement opportunities with recruiters and corporate sponsors.
  • Maintain the School of Business calendar of engagement and marketing activities.
  • Create tracking systems that support the portfolio of engagement opportunities in addition to establishing quarterly updates to engage internal and external School of Business stakeholders.
  • Manage all School of Business accolades, and monitor engage emails and social media platforms.
  • Seek to stay abreast of the Howard University School of Business corporate partners and best practices for specific activation through participation in bi-monthly calls, career fairs, and communication with the Dean’s executive team.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean, Impact and Engagement, and Director of Development to develop strategies to improve engagement and cultivation for all partners and programs.
  • Coordinate and monitor accounting activities as appropriate and prepares internal reports for management; participate in budget planning and management, as required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint required Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related software.
  • Ability to evaluate data generated from shared by executive team members and other related staff within the School of Business for accuracy and then independently.
  • Skilled in proofreading and copy editing following through to correct errors and analyze partnership trends and schedules.
  • Coordinate sections of large projects or entire small projects independently.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Two years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of (4) years combined relevant education and experience. Experience in program/project management is highly desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint required Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related software.
