Academic Coach – Learning Center (Bethlehem or Online)

Summary:
Part-time (approx. 10 to 25 hours per week). Academic Coaches meet with students on a one-on-one basis to help each student achieve success in college. Common areas of focus include acclimation to the college environment and faculty expectations, goal setting, academic skills, study strategies, time management, and overcoming academic challenges. Academic coaches also facilitate group workshops, collaborate with faculty and staff, and participate in ongoing training and development through CRLA certification and focused training opportunities.
 
Qualifications:
  • Earned bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
  • Previous experience in academic coaching, academic advising, tutoring, teaching, counseling, or another area related to supporting student success
  • Knowledge of common challenges encountered by community college students, student learning and development, and strengths-based advising preferred
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine desire to help others learn, achieve success, and reach goals
