The mission of the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience is to advance human resilience to adversity by designing evidence-based solutions through interdisciplinary research, healing therapies, and community training and education.

 

The full-time Staff Psychologist and Program Director for the Milestones Resilience Care program within the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience will provide direct clinical services to clients (75% time) as well as provide program development and oversight support related to auxiliary care within the Healing Division of the Institute (25% time).

 

The innovative Milestones Resilience Care Center, an integral part of the Healing Division of the Lyda Hill Institute, will be launching in 2023 and will create a new model of care for trauma survivors with programming that builds on individuals’ innate strengths and healing capabilities. The MRC program will be supported by an interprofessional team focused on empowered healing. The team will include strength focused evidence-based trauma therapy, trauma-based massage, acupuncture, and yoga, music therapy, movement therapies, creative expression, outdoor clinical groups, animal therapy, and integrated technological interventions.

Job Duties:

Examples of job duties include:

  • Provide program development and oversight related to auxiliary care for the Milestone’s Resilience Care Center including (but not limited to) trauma informed yoga, massage, acupuncture, animal assisted therapy, deep listening, substance abuse groups and nature assisted therapy.
  • Assist in integration of substance abuse models of care into the Milestone’s Resilience Care Center.
  • Participate in staff and team meetings and meetings related to supervision and service delivery.
  • Provide direct clinical services to clients at Milestone’s Resilience Care Center and the Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic
  • Deliver and document services according to professional practice standards and the policies of the clinic in a timely manner using the systems available (such as Electronic Medical Records and Scheduling).
  • Communicating clinical policies and procedures to clients, staff, and trainees in Milestone’s operations.
  • May conduct scientific research
  • Ensure compliance with clinical research protocols and overall clinical services research objectives.
  • May conduct psychological assessments .

Job Competencies:

 

The following knowledge base and skill sets are critical for this position:

  • Experience providing clinical services to trauma survivors with specific experience with Veterans and First Responders.
  • Knowledge of the scientific basis of psychological practice.
  • Knowledge and behavioral skills consistent with the ethics and professional standards of practice in psychology.
  • Knowledge and skills of evidence-based practice of psychological evaluation of trauma survivors and evidence-based interventions.
  • Training and experience with suicide assessment, risk assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment.
  • Skills of communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and staff.
  • Knowledge and skills related to all aspects of professional conduct in clinical and academic settings.
  • Skills and knowledge related to clinical training, community outreach and interprofessional health service delivery.
  • Rudimentary knowledge of ethical and legal standards related to reimbursement process.
  • Ability to participate effectively in clinical services and training teams.
  • Ability to work independently and to structure time to accomplish tasks and goals.
  • Ability to track and report on clinical processes and outcomes.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations in a multi-cultural environment committed to diversity and equality in education.
  • Knowledge and practice in using technology based programs including Microsoft Suite, tele-video conferencing, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). 
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with clients, team members, and community organizations/partners and represent The Institute in attitude, presence, and attire effectively and appropriately.

 

Work Location: On-site

Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.

  • This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

    What We Offer:

    Salary Range: Generally starting at $100,000 - $108,098

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Tentative Search Timeline:

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed (or license eligible) in Colorado as a Psychologist.
  • Ph.D. or PsyD degree in Clinical Psychology or other behavioral health field.
  • A minimum five (5) years of postdoctoral experience providing trauma interventions with range of trauma survivors (e.g., military/Veteran, physical trauma, sexual assault, motor-vehicle trauma).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience developing trauma-focused clinical programs.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve using a computer screen continuously for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
