Position Specific Responsibilities
As the Director of Executive Education and Center for Management Development (CMD) in the Barton School of Business, you will design and implement strategies to position the Barton School’s Executive Education and leadership development programs as unique, distinct, and relevant providers of learning experiences. You be responsible for the financial sustainability, growth and prominence of the Center and will lead the Center’s staff and work closely with the Barton School’s faculty and administrators and local and national companies to ensure quality programs and customers satisfaction. Knowledge of and experience in delivering executive education and management training along with strong leadership skills will be vital to accomplishing the objectives of this role.

Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally. Develops new and unique ways to advance the Center for Management Development (CMD).


Essential Functions

Develops and implements the vision and strategic plan to guide the Center. Establishes program goals and objectives and continually evaluates the effectiveness of such programs.
Identifies potential new clients and establishes relationships. Works closely with existing external clients to assess their needs for training and development.
Maintains close contact with Deans and other leaders of the University; works with colleges and professional organizations in other parts of the country to stay abreast of the national training and development trends.
Collaborates with Finance relative to the financial administration and integrity of the Center.
Recruits presenters and ensures effective development and presentation.

Requirements

 

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field by hire date

Preferred Education

 
Minimum Experience
Six (6) years of experience in management development or related field, with (2) years of experience in a leadership role

Preferred Experience
Demonstrated managerial experience, including managing budgets.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Sound understanding of the executive education market and employment trends across a range of industries and professions.
  • Experience in teaching executive and manager-related education workshops.
  • Ability to communicate with talent development and HR professionals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
