Position Qualification
Position Summary
A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Tammy Kielian in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska (https://www.unmc.edu/pathology/faculty/bios/kielian.html). The candidate will direct independent projects related to the role of innate immunity in host defense against Staphylococcus aureus biofilms using mouse infection models as well as translational research with clinical specimens from patients with biofilm infections. Our laboratory utilizes numerous tools to explore host immune biofilm crosstalk, including single cell RNA-seq, epigenetic platforms, and transposon sequencing. Requires a PhD in immunology or a related immunology-intensive background and preferred immunology research experience. Required Qualifications
  • PhD in immunology or a related immunology-intensive background
  • Immunology experience gained during the completion of a PhD degree

  • Ability to mentor graduate students and staff on laboratory principles and techniques.
