DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

POSITION: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR OF PRACTICE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, FINANCE

EFFECTIVE DATE: Fall Semester, 2023

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Business Administration or Master of Finance.

Candidates must be able to teach courses within the finance, economics, and/or other quantitative business disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

 


DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with Ph.D. or Doctorate of Business Administration, Finance, or closely related field are preferred; those with a Master of Business Administration or Master of Finance will also be considered. CFA preferred. PH.D. or DBA required for appointment to a tenure-track position.

Prefer prior teaching experience working with traditional students as well as non-traditional students.

Evidence of successful teaching in non-traditional course formats such as accelerated, blended, and online delivery courses is also preferred.

 


DUTIES: The successful candidate will develop and teach courses within the finance, economics, and/or other quantitative disciplines such as Corporate Finance, Intermediate Corporate Finance, Operations Management, Money, Banking and Financial Systems, Macro & Micro Economics, Financial Management. Courses taught will be at both the undergraduate level and at the graduate level as assigned, to qualified individuals. Courses may be taught during the traditional day format as well as evening/online/blended formats as assigned. The successful candidate may be asked to engage in interdisciplinary teaching outside the academic department.

The successful candidate will be expected to advise undergraduate and graduate students, participate in faculty committee work and faculty development, and engage in scholarship as well as service to the broader community.

Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
