Job Description

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:

The Administrative Assistant - Financial Aid reports to the Director of Financial Aid.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  1. Assist in carrying out the College's student financial aid and assistance programs, including, but not limited to:
    1. Pell Grants
    2. Texas Public Education Grants 
    3. Direct Stafford Loan
    4. Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants
    5. WIA assistance
    6. Federal Work Study Program
    7. Texas Grants
    8. Institutional and external scholarships and aid
    9. TDCJ Financial Aid
  2. Assist in counseling and/or assisting students and/or their families in regards to federal, state, and local financial aid programs, and awarding of student financial aid and scholarships.
  3. Assist in preparing and distributing all appropriate forms to support the College's scholarship and financial aid program.
  4. Assist in compiling federal and state reports pertaining to the area of responsibility.
  5. Assist in maintaining accurate student financial aid records in compliance with all federal, state, and external auditing guidelines.
  6. Assist in preparing files and documents for the auditors; assist the auditors, as appropriate.
  7. Provide administrative support, secretarial assistance, and research assistance.
  8. Keep Outstanding transactions report up to date by working with the business office.
  9. Serve and participate on institutional standing and/or ad hoc committees, as assigned.
  10. Remain current through a program of professional development, minimal travel required.
  11. Communicate a positive and accurate image of the College to the public; be a positive and active representative of Clarendon College.
  12. Support college activities and special events through attendance and/or participation.
  13. Comply with all College policies, rules, and regulations.
  14. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid and/or the President.
