Adjunct Instructor - CNA- Fargo (non-benefited)

Job Description

Position:  Adjunct CNA Instructor

Locations –Online Instruction + Face to Face Skills Classes at the Fargo Campus

Type of Appointment – Adjunct position to teach between one to four classes per year. 

CNA Schedule:  Classes are scheduled for 15-20 hours per week. Classes are either night classes (5pm-10pm) or day classes (9am-2pm). Classes meet 3-4 times per week. The entire class takes 4-5 weeks. Eight to 10 classes per year are planned.

Job Summary: Primary instructional responsibilities include using the established CNA curriculum. Approximately 80% of class time is synchronous online instruction and 20% of class time is face to face at the Fargo campus. Use learning management (Blackboard) and meeting (Zoom) software for online instruction. Utilize effective teaching-learning tools, manage students online and in the CNA lab/clinical areas, evaluate students, and record course progress with the goal of having students successfully earn CNA class certificate and pass ND CNA certification. Adjunct instructors will work as a team to provide CNA courses year-round.

 

Required Competencies

  • Hold an unencumbered current ND RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • 2yrs. minimum experience as RN with 1 yr. RN experience in a long-term care setting
  • Experience working with diverse students and/or patients.
  • Actively foster and maintain a climate that is supportive of students and respects differences.
  • Clinical requirements: The full list of requirements is in the job description. It includes current immunizations, yearly influenza and TB tests, CPR, and any additional immunization specific to clinical facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distance education delivery and methods
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Baccalaureate nursing program preferred.
