POSITION SUMMARY:

York County Community College is seeking a qualified individual who is interested in contract teaching at the College in both a clinical classroom and an online setting. Area of focus is hands-on clinical medical assisting education.

YCCC’s Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program offers a unique model where students work as apprentices in the field, while also learning in the classroom. You will be working with a diverse group of students ranging from recent high school graduates to returning students embarking on a new career.

Schedule is flexible and will be 4-6 hours a week for 14 weeks, with potential for continuation. Typical schedule would be Wednesday afternoons on-campus, as well as maintaining online components of the course.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: A degree from a regionally accredited college or university in medical assisting, along with Medical Assistant certification.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of practicing as a nurse or medical assistant with an aptitude for teaching in the field.

 

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major field of study in nursing or medical assisting
  • Five years of practicing as a nurse or medical assistant
  • Higher education teaching experience in the allied health field in both an in-person and online setting

SCOPE OF WORK:

To coordinate course, course delivery and program activities for non-credit Medical Assistant Certification Training at York County Community College. The position is a contractual, temporary position for a specified contract period.

 

SALARY/BENEFITS: This is a contract position with compensation commensurate with experience. There are no benefits offered with this position.
