Hennepin Technical College seeks an Part-Time Culinary Arts instructor. We are particularly looking for instructors with food truck industry experience, baking and pastry experience, as well as instructors who can teach basic and foundational culinary skills.

Salary Minimum $39,212
Salary Maximum $84,192

Job Description
Examples of Duties:
 
    • Teach Instructional lecture and lab courses in Culinary Arts
    • Continuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes
    • Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning
    • Support of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resources
    • Development and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid courses
    • Contribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection etc.
    • Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development
    • Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects

 

 
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirement
Associate Degree in culinary arts


Occupational Experience Requirement
    • Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in commercial food preparation

 



Recency Requirement
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
