Rivier University invites general applications for part-time adjunct instructors to be included in a group of candidates able to teach business related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the disciplines listed below. This role is a non-benefited, part-time teaching position within the Division of Business and Security Studies on a semester-to-semester basis.
Interested applicants are asked to submit a cover letter which includes preferred disciplines to teach for, curriculum vitae/resume, teaching philosophy, transcript and the names of three (3) professional references.

Qualifications
  • Potential candidates should hold a master’s degree in field of interest, terminal degree preferred
  • Candidate must possess a keen interest and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students as well as the ability to work effectively with students of all levels and abilities.
  • Be able to work with a diverse student population.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues both in the department and throughout the University community.
  • Support the mission of the University.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
  • Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, and
  • Computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, and reporting platforms, as well as calendaring and email.
This position classification has been defined as exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
