The Crotched Mountain School, a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire is hiring an Assistant Vice President.

Reporting to the Vice President, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) is responsible for leading and managing the residential program operations, overseeing program quality, staffing, and maintenance. The AVP directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of the residential program, maintenance department, and food service department in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the AVP and Vice President.

The AVP partners with administrative staff while also being responsible for all program planning, organizing, operating, and staffing ensuring services follow all federal, state, funding, and city regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements.

Assistant Vice President (AVP) Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that residential treatment services and education are delivered according to the agency’s articulated philosophy and ties individual needs to specific interventions and education, and to achievement of stated goals.
  • Participate in admission decisions designed to ensure that student’s whose behaviors, age, or other factors fall outside the agency’s admission criteria are appropriate for placement at Crotched Mountain School based on the student’s individual needs, risk level, service history, and services provided.
  • Ensures that residential services are provided in an interdisciplinary, psycho-educational, and therapeutic way through a 24-hour-a-day structured program that is individualized, non-coercive and coordinated.
  • Assures that Crotched Mountain School possesses relevant licenses and complies with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Conducts an internal assessment of overall risk on an ongoing basis, that includes compliance with legal requirements, including licensing and mandatory reporting laws, fiscal accountability, and governance; health and safety, including use of facilities; programmatic contract compliance; staff training regarding areas of risk; and security of program related information, including client confidentiality.
  • Reviews all incidents and accidents that involve the threat of or actual harm, serious injuries, and deaths, and review related procedures: establish timeframes for investigation and review; require solicitation of statements from all involved individuals; ensure an independent review; require timely implementation and documentation of all actions taken; address ongoing monitoring if actions are required and determine their effectiveness; and address applicable reporting requirements.
  • Ensures that student records contain sufficient, accurate information to: identify the student; support decisions about interventions or services; and document the delivery of services, and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that access to confidential student records meets legal requirements, and is limited to: the student or, as appropriate, a parent or legal guardian; personnel authorized to access specific information on a “need-to-know” basis; others who are permitted access; former students; requests for records of deceased service recipients; and auditors, contractors, and licensing or accrediting personnel consistent with the organization’s confidentiality policy.
  • Promotes a culture of quality and safety by: using short-term/annual plans that support the long-term strategic quality goals; setting expectations for use of quality and performance improvement results to change policy and practice; encouraging service delivery processes that have been shown to contribute to good outcomes; focusing on customer satisfaction and outcomes; and recognizing staff contributions to performance and quality improvement.
  • Responsible for and oversees program statistics including satisfaction surveys and statistics on discharges, restraints, and hospitalizations, etc.
  • Sets forth performance and outcome expectations in a supportive manner and allay concerns about possible repercussions of identifying areas in need of improvement.
  • Ensures that staff responsible for program quality engage people throughout the organization; systematically collect information and analyze data; and communicate results and recommendations to various key audiences.
  • Ensures that programs and personnel comply with all applicable health regulations and codes, including: certification of occupancy requirements; building codes; occupational safety and health administration codes; health, sanitation, and fire codes; elevator inspections; and all other applicable safety codes.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of an emergency response plan that addresses coordination with all stakeholders.
  • Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment and provide necessary supports and resources to keep staff, students and their parents safe; and minimize the use of restrictive behavior management interventions.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the use of behavior management interventions and: reviews program practices compare with current information and research on effective practice; uses findings from quarterly risk management reviews of restrictive behavior management to inform staff about current practice and the need for change; revises policies and procedures when necessary; determines whether additional resources are needed; and support efforts to minimize the use of restrictive behavior management interventions.
  • Ensures that the program culture and structure promotes respect, healing, and positive behavior and prevents the need for restrictive behavior management interventions.
  • Responsible for and oversees the staff performance, training and development program.
  • Ensures that supervisors of direct service personnel are technically competent and are able to assess the needs of service recipients, the resources available to meet those needs, and the legal and policy requirements governing service delivery.
  • Advise the Affiliate Vice President of program budget needs. Maintains the program budget and submits appropriate documentation to the Affiliate Vice President as required.

Assistant Vice President (AVP) Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or five to ten years related program experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess strong leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills and the ability to effectively engage diverse groups of people in working together toward a common goal.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 per year
